Maldivian CCS Worker
This picture is of one of the two Maldivians who were employed by the RAF in 1960 to keep the CCS/Receiver Station buildings clean.  The pair usually arrived on site around 0800 hours and left at 1700 hours.  They kept the whole place spotless and became good friends to all the airmen who worked at the site. The one in the picture always had a smile on his face and he and his colleague would often bring in Cowry shells as presents for the airmen.  Many years ago Cowry shells were used as money in the Maldives.
